Chelsea planning to make a move for £27m rated talent who is ‘like Sadio Mane’

Chelsea and a few other Premier League heavyweights are reportedly preparing a bid for Metz’s talented teenager Pape Sarr.

This is according to the Daily Mail, who claim the Blues are looking to entice Sarr away from his French fortress.

The 18-year-old came to the forefront of Europe’s attention last season, as he smashed through into the Metz first team.

He made 25 appearances last season, scoring four goals. Sarr has started both his sides two Ligue 1 games this year, as the attention around his talents continues to grow.

Along with Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are extremely fond of the young Senegalese international.

In the Daily Mail’s report, they say all three of the English giants want to buy Sarr and then instantly loan him back to Metz for a campaign. They would have to fork out £27m (Daily Mail) for Sarr’s services, who has also previously been linked to Everton, Newcastle United and Aston Villa.

Evidently a very popular figure on British shores, who might even draw attention to Liverpool fans thanks to this recent comparison.

“For me, he is like Sadio Mane,” said Senegal coach Aliou Cisse about Sarr in June.

“It’s true he has less experience than Mane and has proven less than him, but he is able to play in several systems.”

Let City or United battle it out for this transfer.

Is there really any need to recruit any more youthful, exciting talents, when Stamford Bridge has enough of them already?

Perhaps revisit the Metz star further down the line when he’s fully developed.

Unless one of the Manchester clubs has snatched him up already.
