Ruben Neves warned against Manchester United transfer amid speculation
Danny Mills even inferred Wolves have a better chance of European glory than United do.
Former Manchester City defender Danny Mills has argued that Ruben Neves has as much chance of winning trophies at Wolves as he would if he moved to Manchester United.
In fact, he believes Wolves are more likely to win a Europa League than United are a Champions League.
Ralf Rangnick’s side reportedly have a growing interest in 24-year-old Neves, who helped his team beat United 1-0 on Monday to hand Wolves their first league win at Old Trafford since 1980.
Bruno Lage’s men sit just three points behind United in the Premier League table in eighth and are vying for European qualification themselves.
And, speaking on talkSPORT, Mills said he thinks a move to Manchester would not necessarily spell trophy triumph for Neves.
“Wolves have got as much of a chance at winning the Carabao Cup or the FA Cup,” he said.
“Manchester United aren’t going to win the Premier League, and they’re not going to win the Champions League.
“Wolves might get into the Europa League, and they’ll have a better chance of winning the Europa League than Manchester United will have at winning the Champions League.”
He has played 195 times for the club since his transfer, notching 21 goals and 11 assists.
The Portugal international has played 19 times this season, scoring and assisting one goal apiece.
